Colin Groth

I have the pleasure of working with Karol Myszkowski and an incredible group of colleagues who inspire me daily. My academic journey took root at the Technische Universität Braunschweig, where I completed my master’s and PhD under the guidance of Prof. Marcus Magnor.

My research is driven by a fascination with human perception — mainly visual, but also vestibular and tactile — and its potential to enhance computer graphics. Virtual reality holds a special place in my heart, having been the focus of my thesis. My interests further extend to eye tracking, physiological measurements, and novel forms of vestibular stimulation. But as every graphics researcher, I am also a sucker for beautiful graphics and fast renderings.

Beyond the lab, you’ll likely find me outdoors: paddling through open water, catching views from mountain peaks, or rocking out at a metalcore concert. And nothing beats a good burrito while watching the sunset after a day well-spent.
